ABOUT US

Center Valley Baptist Church is centerally located between the Ohio communities of Newport and New Matamoras, just south of Beavertown. The church campus sits adjacent to the Frontier High Middle School, on the bank of the beautiful Ohio River.

Much of the surrounding area is part of the Wayne National Forrest. When the trees are in leaf, you can't see the church building from the highway. This slight "seclusion" is part of our rural charm.

Many church members and friends of the church are agreeably labeled as "country folk," who enjoy the simplicities and challenges of life away from the big city.

Outdoor recreation is a big part of the local culture and the church is located adjacent to Leith Run Campground to the south and the new Frontier Boat Launch facility on the north side of Frontier High School. Church baptisms are occasionally celebrated at the boat ramp in the Ohio River for those who prefer an outdoor experience.

But what really makes this American Baptist Church unique is its people. They take their faith very seriously but never at the expense of their humor and good naturedness. They believe in sharing their faith, especially by finding where God is already working and then joining Him. While most are of modest means, they believe in sharing and supporting the community.

Love, forgiveness, mercy, rest — it's all here at CVBC. Come and see for yourself.

Rev. R. David Michael serves as Pastor. His wife of over 40 years, Dawn Michael, assists him with many of the pastoral, administrative and creative endeavors. Ms Dawn also heads up the Junior Church program. CVBC may be a small country church but Pastor Dave has BIG ideas.

The biggest idea is that God loves YOU! And Jesus wants a relationship with YOU. Come and let the people of CVBC prove it to YOU.
